Kayak Lessons at the Lake - Spring 2025

REGISTRATION WILL BE OPEN FOR Spring 2025 KAYAKING LESSONS (April THROUGH June)!

Our beginner youth programs are based at Cultus Lake where our Boathouse is located. Levels 1 and 2 are taught on flatwater by our experienced, NCCP certified staff. All equipment is provided.

Our whitewater programs are taught on moving water. The exact location of the lessons will be determined based on water levels. Typically these lessons are taught on the Chilliwack River, the Highway Gates (near Cedarwal Farms) or the Hope Slough. Levels 4 through 6 often consist of short river runs and park n play sessions where learners learn to play in the eddy’s.

Pool Sessions

Register now for 2025 sessions

We are excited to offer pool lessons for youth, free try-it kayaking sessions and member only drop in sessions again in 2025. Sessions will be held at the Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre (9145 Corbould St #4 Chilliwack, BC V2P 4A6) on Feb 21, 28, March 7 and March 14, 2025.

PUBLIC DROP-IN (No membership required) (All Ages)(No registration required)

Not ready for a lesson but want to try kayaking. Join us from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at the Landing Leisure Centre in Chilliwack on Friday February 21, February 28, March 7 and March 14 to try out kayaking with the help of our wonderful instructors. There are limited boats available, first come first serve. Please note this is not a lesson but our instructors are available to provide tips and assistance. No registration is required for this session - just show up and find us on the pool deck to get fitted for equipment. 

IMPORTANT - Pool Admission fees are required to be paid to the Landing Leisure Centre upon entry for these drop in sessions. 

MEMBER DROP-IN (CCE Membership required)(All Ages)(registration required)

Join us at the Landing Leisure Centre from 8:30pm to 9:30pm (MUST arrive by 8:15pm) on Friday February 21, February 28, March 7 and March 14 for drop in kayaking. This is not a lesson but our qualified instructors will be there to give tips and tricks! Registration required. Cost is $20 per session.  CCE Paddling Club Membership is required for these sessions.  NO Pool Admission fees are required upon entry. 

Level 1 and 2, Intro to Kayaking (No experience necessary)(Cost: $75 plus $25 annual membership fee, membership is valid from Jan 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026)

Dates: Friday February 21, February 28, March 7 and March 14, from 7:30pm to 8:30pm at the Landing Leisure Centre in Chilliwack, BC

School Group Lessons

The CCE Paddling Club has been offering paddling opportunities to local schools and groups for over a decade. Our group lessons are fun, engaging, and students will come away having learned the basics of paddling so they can safely paddle at the lake. Discover an easy and cost-effective opportunity to have students experience a new sport! All required equipment is provided by CCE.

Half-Day Summer Camps

REGISTRATION WILL bE OPEN SOON FOR SUMMER 202 CAMPS (JULY THROUGH AUGUST)!

The CCE Paddling Club is offering Learn to Kayak Summer camps (Lesson Levels 1 to 4) at Cultus Lake from the beginning of July to the end of August. Kids will play games, learn kayaking skills and water safety and have a blast! Featuring small group sizes and NCCP-certified instructors, you’ll learn to paddle like a pro in no time.
