About our club
The Chilliwack Centre of Excellence Paddling Club is a not-for-profit, volunteer club.
The Chilliwack Centre of Excellence (CCE) Paddling Club offers kayak instruction and meet-up paddles at Cultus Lake, whitewater kayaking lessons on the Chilliwack River, and competitive white-water slalom race training and events at the Tamihi Rapids race site. We have been kayaking in the Fraser Valley for over 30 years!
We cater to paddlers of all ages and abilities: our members range in age from 6 years old to 80+!
The CCE Paddling Club takes pride in our summer camps and school group programs, that provide affordable kayaking opportunities for youth in the Fraser Valley. We also offer private lessons for families and adults looking to get into the sport or improve their skills.
The CCE can trace its origins back to 1974 when the first Canadian National Whitewater championships were held on the Chilliwack River: slalom paddling has been part of our community ever since that time. In 2021 the CCE Paddling Club had grown to over 300 active local recreational and competitive paddlers, instructors, coaches and volunteers. Club members have regularly raced on the National Whitewater Slalom Team and have included 8 Olympians.
