Cultus Lake, BC

Recreational Flatwater Paddles

Free meet-up adult-oriented group that paddles on Cultus Lake, Hope Slough, Chilliwack Lake and many other local lakes and slow moving waterways. A great way to connect with like-minded paddlers in a beautiful and fun setting. Families are welcome but youth must be accompanied by an adult. These paddles are led by volunteers and you are responsible for your own skills and safety on the water: you must be able to paddle in a straight line and exit your boat safely. The group meets each Wednesday to paddle on Cultus Lake and usually paddles elsewhere in the Fraser Valley on the Saturday mornings.

Participants who are new at paddling, and are not comfortable with the skills described above, are encouraged to register for one of our Lake Kayak Intro/refresher lessons or courses.

Chilliwack River

Note*: Community Whitewater Nights are not lessons. An instructor will assist participants with lines and leading the team down the river. Register for lessons here

Pool Sessions

Pool sessions are arguably the best way for a new paddler to master a roll in their kayak. With all boats and equipment provided, these instructor-facilitated sessions provide an optimal learning environment for one of kayaking’s most difficult and frustrating skills.
